Singer passed away.

Last month, the country music world mourned the loss of Richard “Kinky” Friedman, who passed away at his Texas home in late June at 79.

Known for his sharp wit and bold spirit, Friedman gained fame in the 1970s with his satirical band, Kinky Friedman and The Texas Jewboys, and songs like “They Ain’t Makin’ Jews Like Jesus Anymore.”A prolific artist, he released 18 albums, toured with Bob Dylan, and remained active until his final album, “Circus of Life,” in 2018. Friedman also dabbled in politics, running for Texas governor in 2006 and seeking other offices later. Lifelong friend Clive Hattersley praised him as a gifted communicator and confirmed he had been battling Parkinson’s disease.
