On March 11, 40-year-old Tina Ketcham was found dead in her cell at Linn County Jail, Oregon, two weeks after being arrested on multiple child sex abuse charges. According to Sheriff Jim Yon, corrections deputies found Ketcham hanging and unresponsive during a routine check at 5:10 a.m. Lifesaving efforts failed,
and paramedics pronounced her dead at 5:18 a.m. Ketcham was facing charges including six counts of first-degree rape and other serious offenses, with prosecutors alleging extensive abuse over several years. Her bail request had been denied earlier this month, and she faced a lengthy prison sentence if convicted. Investigators withheld the alleged victim’s identity and Ketcham’s relationship with him.
