Two killed as private jet overshoots runway in San Fernando

Two people died Wednesday when a private jet crashed into houses near San Fernando airport, Buenos Aires Province. The plane, carrying pilot Martín Fernández Loza, 44, and co-pilot Agustín Oforte, 35, went off the runway, hit a house,

and burst into flames.
No one was inside the houses at the time, confirmed Julio César Bono, a spokesman for Argentina’s Airport Security Police. The jet had flown from Punta del Este, Uruguay, and previously from Rio de Janeiro. The crash occurred at 1:18 PM, and the cause remains unknown. The aircraft belonged to the family of Jorge Brito, owner of Banco Macro.
